True to his globetrotting nature, Christian Louboutin celebrated the regional launch of his LouBhoutan Capsule collection in Dubai, one of the 6 cities to offer the collection along with London, New York, Paris, and New Delhi. Never one to do things by halves, the designer held the event at the Leila Heller Gallery, taking his guests on an imaginary journey to Bhutan.
Showcasing the diversity of Bhutanese craftsmanship with 13 exclusive hand-painted, hand-sculpted styles, the capsule was inspired by the shades and vastness of the Himalayan sky and the ornamental richness of Bhutanese architecture. The result of a six year long artistic and creative dialogue with the students of the School of the 13 Royal Arts and Crafts of Thimphou, Bhutan, eight styles were presented in Dubai including the Himalayan Flowers, Beauté du Ciel, Fairy Garden, Thimpu Queen, River of Paro, Punakha Hills, Bhoutan Beauty and Tsipatra sandal.
The launch over, what better way to celebrate a job well done than by dancing up a storm? Last night, the “Dance with me, Christian!” party saw guests dressed in the spring Summer 2020 collection and letting their hair down on the dancefloor alongside the designer. Held at La Mer’s Train beach club, the night kicked off with urban beats from DJ Sonya and LA-based DJ Tay James, followed by a surprise dance performance by hip hop dancers (wearing Louboutin sneakers, of course).
The atmosphere was buzzing as was the décor, with pops of colour, shimmering details and accents of light, paying tribute to the Maison’s trademark upbeat energy. Amongst the famous faces to dance the night away in this magical world were Carmen Bsaibes, Mona Zaki, Fouz, Fatima Almomen, Ascia and Laila Mourad
